My name is Valerie (25) and I'm married to Michael (28); we've been
married almost 6 years, together for about 10. We started "not trying
not preventing" in January 2003, and officially trying in January
2004. We tried on our own for over a year before I mentioned anything
to my ob/gyn.... who in turn did unmonitored 50mg Clomid cycles; which
did result in pregnancies....however I have miscarried all 6
pregnancies (7 babies....5th pregnancy was twins). My doctor wasn't
concerned at all about everything going on because of my age he
refused to do any testing until I was absolutely a wreck. We had a
bunch of labwork and tests done which determined that I have Factor V
Leiden which has been the only determined cause of my miscarriages.
We had carotyping (not sure if I spelled that right) after my last two
miscarriages done on the babies...and nothing genetically was found
wrong.
What we know so far about my health is that I do have endometriosis,
FVL, and my lastest diagnosis is hypothalamic amenorrhea....
essentially my body has gone completely crazy and stopped having
periods without medical intervention. I've had PCT's done in the past
which were rated poor.
I'm under the care of an excellent RE now who has done workups on both
myself and hubby.... he's "super", my HSG showed that everything is
normal and tubes are open, ultrasound of uterus and ovaries looked
good. I'm going to have a PCT done on 9/2 to see where we stand on
that. So we don't have to waste months at a time trying before
getting lucky we may just bypass things and have IUI's.
My cycle protocol for this cycle is Clomid 100mg days 4-8, ultrasound
on 9/2 to check follicles.... if ready I'll be triggering with Novarel
10,000 units. Following ovulation I'll start on blood thinners as a
precaution; he hasn't told me what I'll be taking yet.... but I'd
imagine I'll get the prescription on Tuesday.
