I can see your point there Fester. I do believe however that the more 
publicity Diabetes gets the better for all concerned.

This includes making the general public (not just those who have a 
connection to the illness) more aware of it. I also believe the more 
publicity the more research will be carried out.

No doubt you are aware of the massive increase of people being diagnosed 
with the condition in the UK. The majority of non suffers know very
little, 
if anything, about the illness.

Surely you must agree the more people aware of the symptoms of a Diabetic 
Coma the better for all suffers. That way people would not assume that 
because there is a smell  of apples (which is often confused as alcohol) 
that the suffer is lying drunk!!!

Can I also point out Fester that all my family wear this band, and only I 
suffer from Diabetes, The band is not to show off the illness but to make 
more people aware of it (hence "awareness band"). If three people ask what

the band stands for, that's three more people who may take an interest in 
the condition.
