" In recent days, a Hurricane Diabetes Relief Center has
been organized by the Pennington Biomedical Research Center,
Louisiana State University System in Baton Rouge, LA.
Physicians and staff of the Research Center are obtaining
the needed supplies, going to shelters on a daily basis and
providing the basic care which includes insulin,
medications, glucose strips and meters.
The Center is in great need of the following supplies.
Glucose Testing Supplies (revised)
* Glucometers
* Strips
* Lancets
* Gloves
* Alcohol preps
* Gauze sponges
* Band-aids
* Sharps containers
* Glucose tablets
* Glucose gels
* Syringes
