not step parent related

Guys, I have an issue that I am stumped on.
My 9 year old daughter went to her friend Kelly's house this past sunday
to 
go to her friend's church to do their Trunk or Treat that they do every 
year.  I brought her over to Kelly's house at noon so she could have lunch

with them and so the girls could play together before they got ready to go

to the church. Before I left (Kelly's father and I spoke for about 10 
minutes) I noticed Sarah had taken her jacket off. When she was dropped
off 
later she didn't have her jacket.  I just bought this jacket last week and

so I called the parents Monday morning and left a message on their
answering 
machine describing what it looked like and would they please look for it. 
I 
didn't get a call back at all that day, so I called them yesterday morning

and the mom said that they looked all over the house and did not find the 
coat. (Their house is somewhat tidy, but cluttered) Sarah and the friend's

mom both say that she didn't wear the coat to the church.  I am so 
frustrated. My husband doesn't want me to keep asking about it because he 
doesn't want me upsetting the parents. All I want to do is give them a 
picture of what it looks like so they can keep an eye out for it.
Another part to this story is Kelly's sister had a friend over as well.
I don't want to start blaming people, but I can't help it since they can't

find the coat.  It's a Roxy coat that I just barely told my husband what
we 
paid for it. It's tearing me up inside and I know that sounds so stupid to

be like that.
