Hi Guys,
So, I just got my Wave 9 figures. I've only had time to open up
Barbeque. He was one of my favorites as a kid for some reason. I
think the orange color, and the axe had a lot to do with it.
This figure is a good representation of Barbeque. He has adequate
articulation, better than most 25th. And his hands are very well
done. I think his whole chest rig may be placed a little high, but
it's still not bad. His neck post is painted flesh while it should
probably been left gray for a complete protection. He doesn't need
any red hot embers getting down his neck. The lower legs/feet look
like they were molded gray and painted orange. It's a pretty close
match but looks like maybe his legs are 'wet' and so they are slightly
darker.
The backpack is right on as is the axe. I didn't have my original BBQ
near by to compare the two, but you better believe I'll get to that
this weekend.
My biggest somplaint is that the fire fighting pistol grip does not
connect to the leg. With all of the very well done holster on legs on
other figures, why not BBQ? Weird. I remember that being a big part
of liking the original figure. He was able to draw his firefighting
nozzle quickly.
All in all, I like him. I may have to re outfit an old CORPs fire
truck I have and equip it with several BBQ's maybe repainted slightly
to make a crew.
Thanks for the read,
-'Ron-Man'
