Hi Guys,
In the same ****pment as BBQ, I received the new vehicles. I busted
out all but the HISS. My biggest complaint is that all of the GI Joe
Drivers have crap-tastic Duke arms. They don't bend well at the
elbow, both limited articulation and stiff joints. Clutch's helmet is
too small. It suffers from the Duke helmet/head size ratio ugliness.
I do like the heads of Clutch and Steeler as well as their new vest/
webgear. They have decent 'T' waists that allow for sitting in their
vehicles. So, we can hope that the diaper crotch is a thing of the
past. Breaker has a pistol molded in gray in one of the RAM saddle
bags. So, all of the figures have weapons to fill their holsters.
Breaker has 2 pistols and Clutch and Steeler have a pistol and a
knife.
Serpentor is HUGE compared to his chariot. I read somewhere that
folks were under the impression that the black guns don't move. Well,
mine do. They pivot left and right just like the original. I think
that a bigger badder cape would have been in order on this figure
instead of no cape. But, I guess I can just make one. My Serpentor
also had some sort of white residue on his left shoulder on the rear.
It looked like the haze created on plastic from using super glue. He
also does not come with his sword.
The vehicles are nice. I don't really get the gray nub on the rear of
the RAM gatlin gun side car. I thought it might spin the gun, but I
don't think it does anything. And I suppose my biggest disappointment
is in the VAMP two .50's. It has no motion which was a favorite thing
on the original. And, the two barrels stick out from the base. It
looks like the need to be pushed in about an eighth of an inch or so
to make the air cooling guards match up with the base. It looks a bit
odd as it is. I tried pu****ng them in and when that didn't work, I
tried pulling them out thinking I could shorted them myself. But, it
looks as though they are what they are until I cut them off, shorten
them, and then glue them in.
I am super happy to see good quality vehicles for our guys showing
up. Hopefully, there will be plenty to go around. I haven't seen
them at retail yet. That's a TRU, 2 Targets and a Walmart here in San
Diego county yesterday and today. No figures found yet either. Looks
like Targets and Walmarts are in the midst of resets. Target is
clearancing out a TON of summer stuff and lots of toys. Let the reset
begin and make some room for those Joes... Although, we all know they
won't stay on the pegs long.
Good Hunting!
