OT: Why clone wars?

If they are going to make an animated Star Wars feature why do a story
about the less likable and less interesting charecters from  movies
1-3 rather than the much beloved charecters of movies 4-6?  The age of
the actors is not an issue in animation and even the voices could be
faked if harrison Ford is to expensive now that he can acutally act.
Maybe I'm just getting old and the rest of the world thinks Aniken and
Padme are the best but I just don't see it.
