Amazing. I knew that Deathy visited family in my region, but to be at the
same exact store at the same time... synchronicities never cease to amaze
me, considering the sciences that I study.
I went into Kohls in Tannersville, PA with the wife to look for, of all
things, socks. She went off on her own and I took off for their sad
little
toy department. I was kneeling down, dressed in my Sunday finest -
t-****rt,
short, Coke hat and flip-flops - ***y...), and some big guy walks up and
starts checking out the figures over my shoulder. I look up and he
casually
asks me, "So, you like Transformers?"
"Yea, I'm into it after a fasion."
Then he proceeds to ask me where I hang out online. Any discussion boards
or whatnot. I answer that I hang out in a place that's more/less long
forgotten. A.T.T., alt. toys. transformers newsgroup.
He looks right at me and says, "You're Greenboy."
I was baffled. I looked back up at him and said, "Yea, who are you?"
He stated his real name, (which I won't state here for his privacy), and
then says "Deathsaurus".
"Deathy!", I exclaimed. I couldn't believe it! I shook his hand and gave
him one of those manly hugs, (which I think threw him off a little - sorry
Deathy!) We both picked up a Universe Galvie, (ironically enough, since
it's been one he's been going on about for a while, and we both happen to
find it in each others' prescence.)
Deathy was not what I expected. About a good head taller than I, broad
shouldered, and a jovial personality. Nice chap, like I said.
We talked a bit about figures, the Galvie figures we were holding, Zob and
Chad Ru****ng came up, the paranormal, you know, about 15 minutes of
whatnot.
I went to find the wife and Deathy took off for the ****rts. I found Liza,
and I was going to have her take a picture of Deathy and I for posteriety,
and to introduce the two, and by that point I'd lost him. He was gone.
Maybe next time.
Anyway, he's a hell of a nice guy, and I was glad to finally meet someone
from A.T.T. Hope to see you again around the area. Now I know what you
look like, it'll be a bit easier.
Good luck with the nieces party tomorrow! Good meeting you, amigo!
