Remember how people re****ted not finding any knockoffs at Big Lots
recently? Well, go back there. I was at the one in Torrington, CT, today,
and
there were quite a few. In addition to the slightly undersized TM2
Megatron
knockoffs, the single or double pack Quick Change figures (with new logo),
and
Machine Robo Rescue knockoffs (finally have my police car team), there
were a
bunch of new ones I hadn't seen before. one really cool one was called
Robot
King, but I don't recognize the source bots. A couple were based on the
Power
Ranger Mystic Force figures that combine with the horses, but whoever
wrote
the story on the card needs to proofread badly. It wasn't in "Engrish".
Parts
of sentences were all mixed up, either part of a different sentence or
missing
altogether. It was just sad. There were also some SPD knockoffs of the
first
MegaZord (looks different from the one I have) and the SPD base sans doggy
head. Or it could be the other Zord team, I'm not sure. At any rate they
replaced SPD with SPU and the card tells us it stands for "Special Police
Unit" or something (not sure about the "P").
There were a bunch of other ones two (including another "King" titled
robot), but here's where the title came in, if you remember Prime's
surprise
at combining with Leobreaker. There was a knockoff set called "The
Changeable
Robot" that featured two weird colored undersized Vector Prime figures and
two
weird colored undersized (or way undersized, depending on the original)
Starscreams. It gets weirder, kids. These four combined with a core robot
(not
sure if it transformed into anything) to form a super robot, along with
some
other armor that comes from Primus knows where. And that's not all. The
package seems to indicate more sets featuring weird colored undersized
knockoffs of Cybertron Prime (or Galaxy Convoy, or as I call him, Galaxy
Prime--hence the name in the subject), Soundwave, Skywarp, and Hot Shot.
At
$15 it was a bit pricey for me, and I don't think I'll get one (I really
want
that Robot King--the three core robots looks cool), but I thought others
would
find that interesting.
