Physical Education

by wojno1ea@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Apr 24, 2005 at 02:31 PM

We wonder why kids are overweight these days when the gym teachers they
look up to are not getting involved in their classrooms. Most of the
time teachers make the mistake of telling children what to do and not
showing the kids that it is something we, as educators, can do and
ENJOY to do! I strongly believe that you shouldn't expect someone to do
something that you aren't willing to do yourself.
Physical Education shouldn't be the degree that you get just because
you don't want to "work" the rest of your life. Physical educators
should take their jobs seriously and want to truely better the health
of the students and be creative in the ways that we present units in
our classrooms. Even though our classroom is the gym, we can still use
the technology available to us by making fun reviews on PowerPoint or
doing Internet assignments. Working out and staying active should be
spread out across every aspect of a person's life and as educators we
need to stress the im****tance of physical education and take our jobs
seriously.
