Good point, Owain. When I traveled there with my teens, even they wanted
a sleep in the late afternoon in order to keep going!
I have traveled with a toddler to Britain from Canada. A toddler is
harder than a baby but just make sure that you give the child time to
get sufficient exercise, time to walk. Find a safe place for her to
practice!
I am not sure where you will be flying from, but if jetlag is a
consideration, bear in mind that your child's schedule will be messed up
anyway! You will have to deal with bedtime rescheduling when you get
home.
Also if you are in your hotel room before 7:30 pm, you will never eat
with Italians! They tend to eat much later. Go with the flow. Have a
rest during the day, choose casual family restaurants for dinner, be
prepared for one of you to carry your girl outside if she gets really
fussy.
As far YOUR question, when we were in Italy, we found that some hotels
had rooms with an archway (not really separate rooms). If you bring her
favorite sleep toy, that will help.
Travelling with your child is an amazing enriching experience. Enjoy!
