Would telling her that she just needs to have "quiet time" on her bed work?
My
son will willingly go to his room "to rest" when I tell him he doesn't
have to
nap. 99% of the time, though, he falls asleep. If he's not asleep within
an
hour, I'll tell him he can come out of his room. At least by then he's
spent
some time without tv or videos, and I get some quiet time (if the baby
cooperates!). He's good at looking at books on his own, especially if I
read
2-3 short books or stories first. He will also play with his imaginary
friend.
One thing--DS is 2 1/2, which is older than your DD. He's been doing this
for
about 6 months, though, so maybe it would work for you, too.
