Re: teen son trying alcohol

A good point was made about notifying the other parents.  Neither of
the other two kids was implicated.  One of them... I KNOW he had
nothing to do with it.  The other is a kid who has been living sort of
on his own for weeks because his mom moved to a new place with 3 weeks
left in the old apartment.  But these cir***stances don't matter...
tomorrow I will call each of the moms and let them know what happened.
    Another good point was that 'good kids' fall into trouble with
alcohol.  I guess why I am not so worried with this son is that he has
solid hobbies (fi****ng and bass-guitar, both of which he excels at),
and more im****tantly, he has goals and pride in himself.   One of his
best friends fell into the habit of hanging out at the nearby park
smoking weed, and he is irritated and disappointed in that friend, and
was sad to see him go downhill.
    I WAS disappointed to see my son be dumb like that, getting
drunk.  And he knows it.  But I feel pretty confident that the
experience wasn't so wonderful that he's dying to try it again.
