Well, of course they should do other fun things too. This kind of
walking trip didn't happen every day (frankly, it was a lot of work
for the teachers and even with walking, there were safety concerns).
With our younger kids, we had a large stroller and got them out for
walks, but not generally to the stores. Walking to the park or just
out for a stroll was the rule with those younger than 2.
