This worked for us, with Micah's horrendous night terrors (and I
believe it was Pologirl who alerted me to the night terror possibility
with him -- THANK YOU SO MUCH, all these months later. We were at our
wits' end.). What also worked: making sure he got naps, not letting
him get too hot, no socks in bed. At the first peep, I'd rush in and
rub him gently and wake him up -- but it had to be an almost
immediate, before the terror got into full swing. He doesn't have
them much anymore, but he was having regular ones for months at a
time, starting from when he was an infant (we realized this in
hindsight).
