It worked with #2's night terrors when she had them regularly. She used to

start thra****ng around like having a temper tantrum and scream "no!" and 
"don't strap me in" "I don't want to go in the buggy".
The other thing that worked when she had occasional ones was putting my
arms 
round her and saying "you're in bed and mummy's here". She would calm
don't 
almost immediately. But then she was older (around 2yo) and so had a bit 
more understanding.
